Lord Mayors Show 2008
We are seeking 5 young people (aged between 14 and 25) from every single London Borough to represent the work of the Foundation and the diversity of London youth. These young people will take part in the parade and will experience the sheer thrill of being cheered by over half a million people in the streets, and being watched by millions more on BBC TV.
Over 6,00o people took part in the 2007 Lord Mayor's Show, including 2000 servicemen and women, 200 vehicles, 66 floats, 24 marching bands and 21 carriages. The event is followed by one of the largest firework displays in the country – a grand finish to a grand event.
Our nominated young people will be representing the estimated 250
nationalities that currently reside in London by displaying their
national flags and emblems.
So, do you have young people in your organisation that you would
like to nominate to take part? They must fit the following
criteria:
1. Be aged 14 to 25 years old.
2. Be based in London and a member of your organisation.
3. Be available from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 8 November
4. Be available for a rehearsal from 10 am to Noon on Saturday 1 November.
5. Be
able to physically manage the three mile route (please note wheelchair
applicants are warmly welcomed).
