An Air Cadet from 282 East Ham Royal Air Force Squadron has recently been awarded with a Jack Petchey Achievement Award for his dedication and enthusiasm to his Unit.
Cadet Corporal Mujahid Hossain has on several occasions supported the squadron with various fundraising events. However, most recently he committed most of his summer holidays to helping the squadron’s Costa Rica team with a fundraising project which earned them over £12,000! Although he isn’t personally attending the trip, he contributed over 100 hours of volunteering to help raise funds for the team.
The volunteers headed out to Costa Rica last week to begin having a positive impact on the local community. They are there for over two weeks and plan to make the locals’ lives much better before they leave.
Mujahid is described by those that know him best as an incredibly selfless cadet who has a heart of pure gold!
As part of his award Mujahid received a £250 grant and wishes to spend his money in yet another selfless way – he has chosen to purchase parade shoes for his cadets, as many individuals cannot afford this piece of kit.
